Inside the Shenzhen Robot Factory That’s Reinventing CNC

Elephant Robotics in Shenzhen was spending over a million dollars a year on custom machined parts. But they couldn’t find a CNC that met their needs, so they decided to build their own. I visited their offices and workshops, dug into the robots they’re building, and followed the story of how that pain led to a new kind of CNC they’re calling NestWorks. We get into why traditional CAM is such a mess, how they’re trying to make CNC feel more like using a 3D printer, and what it actually takes to design and build a machine tool from scratch.
